Sri Thirumeni Azhagar Temple, Pannayur, ECR Road, Chennai

 

A very beautiful small temple just few meters away from the beach on ECR road. As the name suggests the shivalingam is so beautiful and has a square Avudayar signifying that it must have been installed by siddhars. 

The history is not known, but looking at the Avudayar you can make out that it is really old.

The temple though in a small room kind of structure is very well maintained and absolutely clean and neat. You can see a peepal tree and neem tree together. You can experience the cool breeze from the sea and is very peaceful atmosphere and ideal for meditation.

Very old east facing suyambu lingam, very pleasant and quiet place inside the uppalam(back water salt lake)

Good place for meditation. Lingam was identified in a well and later built a small temple. Daily orukala pooja and all other auspicious days being celebrated.

Must visit this temple to experience the vibe. Ohm Namasivaya.

This temple was built in 7th century (615-330).

Sivalingam alone was under a neem tree and recently renovated using old stones. Sivan facing east and it was constructed that morning sunrays directly fall on him.
