Moolavar: Sri Vaidheeswaran
Amman: Sri Thaiyalnayagi
A temple which is called Vada Vaidheeswarran, Vada in Tamil means north. This is equivalent to the Vaidheeswaran Kovil in Nagapattinam district. Swamy is facing east and Ambal Thayalnayagi faces south. Big prakaram with Sannidhi for Pillayar, Murugan, Byravar and Navagraha. There is separate Pillayar and nagar under the peepal tree. A small sannidhi for Anjaneyar can also be found in the mahamandapam.
A beautiful temple in middle of nowhere and apparently been worshipped by Siddhars in this area. It is said that there was a Siddhar here who has worshiped this Sivan for many years. The place Sastrapakkam has come as those days the horoscopes were read in this place by brahamins. It is said that if you keep your horoscope at the feet of the lord Vaidheeswarran he can rewrite your fate.
In earlier days the shivan here was called as Mrithunjayaeshwarar and Ambal was called Bhavaroganivarini.
Doing mahamrithunjaya Homam at this temple is belived to remove all ailments. They perform abhishekam to the lord with various herbs and during Shivaratri they perform 54 kind of abhishekam.
A very peaceful and beautiful tenple and a must visit for all Shiva devotees.
