Moolavar: Sri Kaaraneeswarar
Amman: Sri Kamakshi Ambal
An old Shivalingam and Kamakshi Ambal vigraham along with a broken Nandhi has been found in this village and the earlier name was called Kammangaadu. The local villagers have built a small temple for Kaaraneeswar and have been maintaining it really well. The temple is at the edge of Chembarambakkam lake. The kumbhabhishekam was done 2003.
Very peaceful and serene village and the temple has an amazing vibration. It was told that when the Sivalingam was taken out the Aadharapeedam had 9 holes representing like a yanthiram. Also there is a yanthiram that is kept at the feet of Kaaraneeswarar and daily puja is being offered.
It’s worth a visit for all devotees of lord Shiva.
