Moolavar: Sri Kundaleeswarar
Amman: Sri Yogambigai
A good 1000 years old temple in the village of Venbakkam on the banks of a large lake. It is said that this sivalingam could be one of the 108 sivalingam that was installed by sage Agasthiar.
Interestingly this temple is in straight line with Sri Thulaseeswarar, Tenple and Sri Marunderswarar temple.
There is a small temple tank which is referred as “Neer Kundraa kulam” in Tamil it means a tank which does not dry up ever and alway filled with water. Hence based on the name of the temple tank they have have named the lord here as Kundraesswarar later it’s become Kundaleeswarar.
Contact:The temple is being maintained by one Mr.Narasiman who can be reached at 9751089926. A kurukal cones every day to perform one time puja here
A beautiful serene atmosphere and a must visit temple for all.
