Sri Vazha Vantha Vayulingeswarar (Vaayu Lingam), Paruthipattu

Moolavar: Vazha Vantha Vayulingeswarar
Amman: Sri Viruthambigai

This is the 6th of the 8 Lingams of Lord Shiva around Sri Vedapureeswarar of Thiruverkadu. The temple is located at paruthi pattu on the Poonamalle-Avadi road. This temple is found to the North West of the Thiruverkadu Vedapureeswarar Temple, which is the Vayu moolai or corner as per Vasthu shasthram.

Ambal Viruthambigai is also facing East like sawmy which you do not see in many Siva temples. Also you can see Nandhi in front of Ambal Sannidhi instead of a lion.

There is separate Sannidhi for Sri Sathyanarayana on the west side of the prakaram facing west.
In front of the moolavar you have small Sannidhi for Bala Ganapathi and Balamurugan. The separate Pillayar Sannidhi here has Vinay Theertha Pillayar and also there is a separate Sannidhi for valli Devanesa Samedha Sri Subramaniam.

The vimanam has some very old and unique sudhai murthies which we have not seen before in any temple.

Sri Vayulingeswarar is worshipped for getting remedies for air borne diseases and also recover lost property.
