The tenple is said to be 1200 years and in the earlier days he was called Shozumbu and later it has changed in days to the current name. 

The name Chembarambakkam came from the lord Shozumbu in days it known with the current name.
The ghostam has had only Dhakshinamurthy, Mahavishnu and Bramha. Recently they have installed Ganapathy and Durgai.


The Muyalagar below Dhakshinamurthy is facing East which is never seen in any Dhakshinamurthy statues in all Shiva temples.


The outer prakaram has separate Sannidhi for Shakthi Ganapathy, Valli Devayanai samedha Sri Subramaniam and also a separate Sannidhi for Ayyappan.


Also you can see Sri Raghavendrar and Sri Ganapathyswamigal

Pooja is happening 2 times a day.
