Sri Aravaneeswarar Temple, Naduveerapattu, Sriperumbudur

Moolavar: Sri Aravaneeswarar
Amman: Sri Abhirami Ambal

A 1000 years old sivalingam that was found to be in a completely dilapidated temple here for over 4 generations,  was taken up by one Sri Murugan who is a localite and around 12 years ago a beautiful temple was built. Since then regular puja is going on.

It is said to be one of the 108 temples around Kanchipuram. The Sivalingam, Nandhi, Pillayar, Byravar and Chandikeswarar are dated back to over 1000 years old. The Ambal and the other Sannidhi vigrahams are new.

The name Aravaneesavarar means one who has adorned Aravam (snake in Tamil) as his ornament.

You can see a single palm tree here which is said to be the sthalavriksham.

Lot of events are celebrated here in a grand manner and given there is also an Ayyappan Sannidhi within the prakaram, anna dhanam is happening very regularly and many participate in these celebrations. Annabhishekam is celebrated in a big way too during the month of Aipasi. Also daily around 25 old aged people are fed food here in the morning.
