On the river backs of Coovam River, a beautiful old shivalingam has been found and local villages have got a Padma peetam Avudayar done and have installed in a small temple.
The linga banam is red in color and has bramhakuri which shows it’s antiquity. Could have been either from the Pallava period or later Vijayanagar period.
Daily one Kala pujai is happening.
