Moolavar: Sri Thokkeeswarar
Amman: Sri Swarnambigai
A beautiful temple which seems to as old as 500 plus years. They say that 15th-century Vijayanagara period inscription about the donation of Land is around somewhere in this temple. Also it is said that as per the inscription the moolavar here was known as Koteeswarar.
The entrance is from the south side, and the temple faces east, with a temple tank in front. There is also an arch on the east side with a small gate.
The outer praharam has sannidhi for Sri Vijayaganapathy, Sri Vetrivel Murugan with Sri Valli Devasena, Amba Swarnambigai with simha vahanam, Navagrahas, Sri Bhairavar, Sri Chandran, and Sri Suryan.
In the Vijaya Ganapathy Sannadhi’s goshtam , Sri Saraswati can be seen in standing posture which is very rare, Sri Lakshmi (image is not there), and Sri Brahmi.
In Murugan’s goshtam, Sri Gugan, Sri Dhandayuthapani, and Sri Subramaniar can be seen.
Sri Dakshinamurthy, Sri Vishnu, Sri Brahma, and Sri Durgai can been seen on the moolavar goshtam. Similarly Sri Koumari, Sri Vaishnavi, Sri Brahmi, Sri Maheswari and Sri Varahi are seen on the Ambal goshtam
You can see epigraph with old Tamil inscriptions lying near the gate.
