Amman: Sri Elavarkuzhali Ambal
A 10th century temple which is believed to be built by Third Kulothunga Chozhan and later contributions were made by Pandya rulers. The village has many paddy fields and hence the village is called Vayalakavur.
A beautiful temple fully built in granite stone has two prakarams, the inner prakaram is around the sanctum and you can see all the ghosta murthies and all of them are quite big in size. The moolavar is on a round Avudayar and is also fairly bigger sized lingam.
The Ambal Elavarkuzhali is in a separate Sannidhi in the outer praharam and is facing south. There is a Navagraha Sannidhi in the outer praharam also have Kodimaram, Balipeedam and Nandhi Mandapam.
