Sri Vasishteshwarar Temple, Pilappur, Chengalpattu

Moolavar: Sri Vasishteshwarar
Amman: Sri Loganayagi Ambal

A very old temple belonging to the chola period and believed to be built during the Paranthaka Chozhan. At that time this place was called Paranthaka Chozha Puram and later got changed to Pilappur.

The moolavar Vasishteshwar is on a square Avudayar and it’s a huge siva lingam. It looks like a huge temple those days and you still have the old goshta vigrahams which are all quite big.

The entire temple has been rebuilt in recent years. The moolavar is facing east and ambal Loganayagi is in a separate sannidhi facing south.
Looks like absolutely no puja is performed daily and only weekly once or every pradhosham puja alone is done.

The temple person Prabhakaran and can be reached on 9444809955
