Over 1500 plus years old temple built in the Chola period by a king named Jayamkonda Chozhan. Interestingly this temple faces south and the lord faces east and the temple is situated in the North East corner ( Eshanya moolai) of the village and in middle of paddy fields. The lingabanam is really tall and it has a square Avudayar.

It is said that all ladies has to visit this temple atleast once in their life time and all those whoes name starts with letter ‘Gho’ like Gopalan, Gomathy Govindan or Godavari has to pray to this lord for their life long. Also when visited during ‘Amritha Yogam’ of the day amazing Amrithashakthi is released in the premise of this temple.

Ladies wanting marriage boon worship Amirthambikai by offering garlands made of glass bangles. Goddess Amirthambikai faces south and her head is tilted slightly towards the right as if she is ready to listen to your prayers. Also those who are seeking child has to to Gho pujai and pray to get a good Santhanam.

It is belived that all pithru dhosam also gets cleared here in this temple. The theertham or temple tank is known as Pithru theertham or Agnitheertham. Those who have Shani Gruha issues have to perform abhishekam to Sri Amrithayogeshwarar as well as Byravar here on Saturdays and will be relived of all Shani dhoshams. It’s a parihara sthalam for Magham and Poora Nakshathiram people.
