Arulmigu Agatheeswarar Temple (Agni Lingam), Thiruverkadu

1200 year old temple built by kuloathunga chozhan, dedicated to lord shiva located in Noombal.Presiding deity is called as Agatheeswarar and mother is called as Anandavalli. This temple is found to the south east of Thiruverkadu Vedapureeswarar temple. 


There are 8(ashta) lingams in eight directions around Thiruverkadu temple.This temple represents the Agni Lingam, one of the Ashta lingams.This is a small beautiful temple with one parikaram. Agatheeswarar is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Sanctum follows Gaja brishti construction. Nandi and Balipeedam can be found facing the sanctum. Mother Anandavalli is housed in a separate shrine.

There are shrines for Navagrahas along with their consorts (special here) available. Muruga, vinayaga, chandikeswarar and Bairavar also available in the respective places.


Temple opens at 6 am in the morning.
