Sri Pozhichaleeswarar Temple, Agaramthen

Amazing temple in middle of a beautiful village. It is belived to be over 1300 years old temple and built by the Hoysala kings.


The pozhichaleeswarar name has come because of good pozhichal which means abandunce of paddy growth. There is good amount paddy fields around this village. The place is famous for Chandran and it is belived that around 1000 snakes has worshiped this place and also recently too snakes visit this temple often. The wood above the sivalingam is karinkali wood and it represents the importance of angaragam or mars.


Ambal is facing south and there is a separate Sannidhi for sarabeshwarar.
