Moolavar: Sri Arunachaleswarar
Amman: Sri Abhithakuchambigai Ambal
A beautiful temple and mainly known for Sri Kanagadurgai Ambal as the main deity of this temple. She was supposedly on top of the hill which is now being converted to a quarry and before that she was brought down and 20 years ago installed in this temple.
The shiva lingam here is almost 900 years old and was got from Madurai. The bhairavar is also unique with two pillayar on either side. There is bhairavar siddhar jeeva samadhi. The Raghu in this temple is 9 feet tall. Ragu is considered the lord of body and hence is present along with his two wives. While ketu who is called gyan karagan is also present alone. Once you enter the temple you can experience the serenity.
The speciality of the durga is that she is seated on the lion and considered a serene form. Chandi homam is conducted on every valarpirai navami thiti. It starts in the morning and goes till 1.30pm. On every amavasai morning there is puja for lord shiva and any one who wants to pray for ancestors can do so on amavasai. A pratyangara homam also happens on every amavasai evening. On every pournami there is giri valam and starts at 6pm and ends by 8pm.
There are many smaller Sannidhies and very beautiful, peaceful temple.
