Sri Thiruvandeeswarar Temple, Thiruvanthavar village, Uttaramerur

Moolavar: Sri Thiruvandeeswarar
Amman: Sri Maragadhambikai

A very old temple dating 12th century built by Vikrama Chola who is the 4th son of Kulothunga chola and has been renovated by Vijayanagar Kings in the later years. This place is known for Bramhahathi dhosha nivarthi sthalam.

A vigram of Bramhathi facing south is in the Mahamandapam.

Just outside the grabhagraham there is vigneshwarar with Siddhi and Buddhi on either side with his mushiga vahanam in front of him. Aarumugam with Valli and Devasena looks very beautiful on the other side.

The west of the temple there is temple pond known as sangu theertham and like in Thirukazhukundram here also a sangu is formed once in 12 years..

Contact: The temple is taken care by Balaraman and can be reached on 9087845469
