Sri Kasi Vishwanathar temple, Pudhupettai, Kancheepuram

Moolavar: Sri Kasi Vishwanathar

Amman: Sri Kasi Visalakshi Ambal

A good 1000 plus years old temple on the way to Kanchipuram main city from Walajabad. It is said that during that time 5 shivalingams were brought from Kasi to Kanchipuram and was installed in 5 villages and it’s called as Pancha Kasi Kshetram and the villages are Karukupetai, Pudhupettai, Navaspettai, Babaspettai and Thimmianpettai.

The moolavar is a beautiful small shivalingam just like in Kasi, separate sannidhi for Visalakshi facing south in the maha mandapam. The temple is facing east and there is also a south and west entrance.

The goshtam has Pillayar, Dhakshinamoorthy, Mahavishnu, Bramha and Vishnudurgai. The temple has a beautiful outer praharam and is very serene and peaceful.

Contact: Daily only Kala pujai is performed and the Kurukal Velan can be reached on 8870252187

Location: Sri Kasi Vishwanathar temple, Pudhupettai, Kancheepuram
