A beautiful Chola period temple which has been renovated recently and has taken over 5 years to get to the current structure. This is called the Vada Shankaranarayanar like the one on south of Tamilnadu.
It is said that the Chola kings used to pray here and then go on high seas to the eastern countries like Cambodia, Malaysia etc.
During one of the wars this temple was completely destroyed and was buried under the ground and later discovered and being renovated.
There are separate Sannidhi for Srinivasa Varadharaja Perumal with many sannidhies for Padmavathy Thayar, Dhanvanthri, Aandal, Rama Lakshmana Seetha and Chakrathazhvar.
Separate Sannidhi for Swarnakarshana Byravar.
Very serene and beautiful temple to be visited by all devotees of lord shiva. Daily 2 Kala Puja happens
