Sri Kailasanathar Temple, Palur, Chengalpattu

Amman: Sri Karpagambal 

A very beautiful Pallava period temple which is on the south banks of the Palar River in Chengalpattu district. The temple is situated is a very serene village surrounded by paddy fields. 

The temple is facing east and has a beautiful pillarard front mandapam and a main Maha mandapam with antrala and grabhagraham. Moolavar Sir Kailasanathar is facing east and Ambal Karpagambal is facing south. 

The temple is maintained by an old Sivanadiyar named Jayaraman who stays here within the premise and takes care of the daily puja. He is so devoted in his activities and with such simplicity that is really impressive and inspiring. He does all the activities himself and has completely dedicated his life to the lord.

The outer praharam has Sannidhi for Pillayar, Valli Devasena sametha Subramaniam Sannidhi and also kalabyravar Sannidhi. There is a beautiful garden being maintained and the flowers plucked from here only are offered to the lord.
