Kayarohaneswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Pillaiyarpalayam, a well-known locality in Kanchipuram City in Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding deity is called as Kayarohaneswarar and Mother is called as Kamalambigai. This temple is considered as a Guru Parihara Sthalam. Hence, this temple is popularly known as Guru Koil / Guru Temple of Kanchipuram. This Temple is considered as one of the 108 Shiva temples mentioned in Kanchi Puranam. This Temple is considered as one of the three Kaya Rohanam Temples in Tamil Nadu.
Kayam means body and Arohanam means lifting. It is believed that Sivan lifted Thirumal and Bramha in his shoulders and did ruthrathandavam.
It has 6 lingas in a separate place which is meant for 6 Mavithira munivargal worshiped here. There is a separate sannidhi for Mahalakshmi with Lotus in her hand.
