Sri Aadhikaraneeswarar Temple and Sri Karaneeswarar Temple, Peerkankaranai

Sri Swarnanbigai samedha Sri Aadhikaraneeswarar
Sri Karunyambal sametha Sri Karaneeswarar
Sri Sarabeswarar

Place: Peerkankaranai

Seems to be an old temple and recently been renovated. Swaranbigai is facing South and lord Aadhipureeshwarar is facing east.

Separate Sannidhi for Sri Swaranakarshna Byiravar and Sarabeshwarar is found in this temple. Byiravar is in a very shantha swarupam with his consort on his lap and has a beautiful kalasam in his hand.

The Sarabeshwar has human body 8 legs 4 hands has a nose of Gaurudan and a mouth of yazhi and has 2 big wings and at his foot you can see Narasimhan with folded hands. It is said that to tame the ferocious Narasimhan in his avatharam lord shiva took the form of a more ferocious form which is called Sarabheshwarar.

Very uniquely you can see Ardhanareeswarar in the goshta murthies.

Opposite to the temple tank there is another Aadhikaraneeswarar temple and the Ambal is called karunyambal. This seems to be very old temple and very unique. You have all the goshta murthies and separate Sannidhi for Selvakumara Swamy, KanakaDurgai and Kalabyravar
