The Malleeswarar Temple is located in Karasangal, Chennai suburb. The temple is around 2 km from the Karasangal bus stop. Karasangal is in the Tambaram-Padappai route and comes after Manivakkam bus stop

The temple is facing east with and entrance arch on the south side.. nandhi, palipedam and Deepa sthambam with Nandhi playing miruthangam relief are in front of the mandapam.

The sanctum sanctorum consists of sanctum, antrala and muka mandapam. The temple was built with brick and plastered with lime. In KoshtamNarthana Vinayagar, Dhakshinamurthy, Mahavishnu, Brahma and Durgai. A relief of squatting lion ( similar to Pallava period ) is installed on the wall of the sanctum below Brahma.

In the prakaram sanndhi for Karpaga Vinayagar ( in front there are 4 half pillars standing seems to be of very old ), Valli devasena subramaniyar with elephant vahana and Navagrahas. Ambala is in a separate sannadhi facing south.

Gurukal claims that the temple is of 400 to 500 years old. ( may be much more older too ). It was told that 10,008 Lamps will be lit during maha shiva rathiri day and celebrated in grand manner.
