As per the legend the Viyagrapatha Munivar obtained the tigers leg to climb up the trees to pluck flowers to offer to the lord.. Hence the lord is called as Vyagrapureeswarar. Hope the name of the place Pulipakkam might have got from this legend.

The temple is facing east with out any rajagopuram and compound wall. Nandhi mandapam and Palipedam are in front of the sanctum. On the hill, sannadhi for Pathanjali Munivar, Ananda Vinayagar, Subramaniyar, Vyagrapathar siddhar pedam, Bairavar, Navagrahas, Vinayagar under bhodhi tree, Sandikeswarar and Amman temple.

The sanctum sanctorum consists of Sanctum and antarala. The sanctum was constructed with stone and vimanam is constructed with brick and stopped halfway. In koshtam Vinayagar, Vishnu, Brahma and Durgai. There is a Jeeva Samadhi of Sri Raghava Swamikal near the temple.

This beautiful and serene adobe in located. To the western side after crossing the toll you can notice a Blue board written as “SIVA SIVA” on a small hillock, a few meters of walk or ride on the rugged road to the hillock will take you to the place.
