A beautiful shiva temple in midst of a residential locality called Metha Nagar. This is a very recent temple built around 5 years ago. The prophesy has that the lord is residing here in a single palm tree and the localities searched through the thick vegetations to find the lone palm tree in this locality and built this temple next to the tree.
Palm tree is called Thali Maram in Tamil and the letter Meh is added in respect and hence the name Methalishwarar.
The temple has separate Sannidhi for Sri Venugopala Swamy and Anjaneyar. Also a large mandapam which can accommodate a large number of people is also found.
A serene and beautiful temple for the localities here a must visit for those who are in and around Chennai
