Moolavar: Sri Aanandheswarar
Amman: Sri Azhagudaya Nayagi
Place: Azhagur, Padappai
A 2000 year shivalingam under a shed that has been built around below a neem tree, in middle of open area surrounded by farming lands.
In earlier days this place was called as Azhagapuri Pattinam and later became Azhagur. The locals have just built this make shift shed and a sivanadiyar is taking care of this place for last 45 years.
Azhagudai Nayagi is a very small Murthy and you have Nandhigeswarar in front of the shivalingam.
There is a Amman Padam impression on the stone which is kept behind the temple
