Sri Amaratheeswarar Temple, Sirukalathur

Moolavar: Sri Amaratheeswarar
Amman: Sri Parvathavardhini Amman
Place: Sirukalathur

Seems like a temple which should be around 1500 plus. Right next to Chembarambakkam Lake in a village called Sirukalathur and close to Ramanatheeswarar at Thirumudivakkam.

It has been in ruins and the local villagers with the support of many others have rebuilt the temple to its today’s glory.

A shivanadiyar named Maari is doing the daily puja for last 20 years.

The temple has all the Goshta murthies and in the outer prakaram has sapatha mathar. There is a dwajasthambam signifies that earlier days there must have been temple festivals held.

Inside a beautiful Ganapathi and Aarumugam with his concerts valli and daivayanai. Also a unique statue of Ayur Amman.

A serene and beautiful village atmosphere away from the hustle bustle of the city a must to visit temple for all those love visiting old temples
